Turismo: Lo Verde (Ais), le nostre citta' d'arte non diventeranno a “uso esclusivo” dei visitatori

Con l'avanzare dell'estate i residenti cominciano a spostarsi dai grandi centri verso le mete di mare e di montagna ma, soprattutto nelle cosiddette città d'arte, ciò non significa che si spopolino. A compensare questa “fuoriuscita” è l'afflusso di turisti, italiani e stranieri, che prosegue in modo consistente. Un fenomeno che (quasi) non conosce sosta e che ha portato in molti a paventare il rischio che le città italiane perdano la loro identità e si svuotino dei residenti, per trasformarsi in grandi parchi urbani dedicati ai visitatori. Una prospettiva che il Professor Fabio Massimo Lo Verde, titolare della cattedra di Scienze Economiche, Aziendali e Statistiche presso l'Università degli Studi di Palermo e membro dell'Associazione Italiana di Sociologia, che da tempo studia questi fenomeni, accoglie solo parzialmente. “Ricordiamo sempre che l'offerta turistica fortemente standardizzata, ‘chiavi in mano', che prevede già un pacchetto di attività è solo una delle molte forme oggi presenti. Esistono, infatti, diversi turismi e diversi profili di turista, con diverse disponibilità economiche”. Dunque, per il Professor Lo Verde siamo immersi in una “dinamica in cui possiamo parlare non tanto di reversibilità o irreversibilità rispetto alle caratteristiche delle nostre città, ma piuttosto di un cambiamento in atto. Di una trasformazione il cui esito non è scontato, ma in divenire”. Per l'esponente dell'AIS, infatti, “è innegabile che la geografia urbana e il suo sistema produttivo siano sempre più legati ai flussi turistici e che vivano dei suoi effetti, anche negativi, come l'overtourism, che impatta soprattutto sulla vita dei residenti. Ciò sta determinando nell'immediato un duplice effetto: da un lato la nascita e la proliferazione di attività orientate alla ricettività e alla ristorazione e, dall'altra, a una forma di ‘autoespulsione' da parte di quei residenti in possesso di appartamenti e che scelgono di investire nell'ospitalità – le case vacanza -, optando per il proprio allontanamento in funzione di un reddito che, in molti casi, è aggiuntivo e non assume le caratteristiche di primo lavoro”. Ma questo cambiamento in cui siamo immersi per il Professor Lo Verde non si traduce solo ed esclusivamente “in quel turismo fortemente orientato alla standardizzazione. Accanto ad esso, infatti, c'è una domanda di turismo ‘egoisticizzata'. Vale a dire, di quel turista e di quel viaggiatore alla ricerca dello spirito del luogo, fuori dagli standard: un turismo non turistico, di chi è interessato a località e siti dove altri non sono andati e ad esperienze che altri non hanno vissuto. Questo segmento di offerta turistica presuppone necessariamente l'autenticità dei luoghi, di persone e vite reali” ed è anche in ragione di questa differenziazione della domanda e offerta turistica che il Professor Lo Verde propende per l'idea che le nostre città non siano condannate a diventare “luna park” ad uso esclusivo dei visitatori.
