Ue: Fontana a conferenza Parlamenti, 'strategia in 5 punti per futuro Unione'

Roma, 22 apr. (Adnkronos) - Un percorso in cinque punti per dare all'Europa autonomia strategica e futuro quello che il presidente della Camera Lorenzo Fontana ha tracciato alla conferenza dei presidenti dei Parlamenti Ue in corso a Palma di Maiorca. Nel suo intervento di oggi, Fontana ha sottolineato la necessità di "operare scelte che, nel contesto geopolitico globale, siano coerenti con i nostri interessi, i nostri valori e il nostro modello sociale". Da qui i cinque ambiti prioritari in cui operare: l'individuazione di nuovi settori strategici, tra cui "le politiche essenziali per conservare il modello socio-economico e le identità culturali europee", lo sviluppo di una reale politica estera e di sicurezza dell'Europa, il processo di allargamento dell'Unione ai Paesi candidati dei Balcani occidentali e il sostegno a un'azione diplomatica forte per la pace, uno sforzo comune per accrescere la competitività dell' industria europea, politiche verdi che siano sostenibili e che valorizzino le peculiarità di ciascun Paese e la riforma del funzionamento dell'Unione, "che dia all'Europa strumenti e procedure più efficaci e agili". "L'auspicio - ha concluso Fontana - è che questi temi siano centrali nel dibattito e nella campagna che ci porterà al rinnovo del Parlamento europeo a giugno".
