Usa, la tempesta tropicale Debby allaga le strade: residenti camminano nell'acqua alta

Le strade della Georgia e della Carolina del Sud sono completamente allagate dopo il passaggio della tempesta tropicale Debby che ha scatenato tornado e forti piogge. La polizia ha bloccato tutte le strade del centro di Charleston per precauzione e altre sono state chiuse a causa di inondazioni simili a quelle che si verificano più volte all'anno a causa dell'innalzamento del livello del mare. Nella città della Carolina del Sud è stato indetto il coprifuoco, chiudendo tutte le strade del centro della penisola e lasciando passare solo i lavoratori nei settori essenziali e il personale di emergenza. Il sindaco William Cogswell ha dichiarato che grazie a questa misura la città non ha dovuto effettuare salvataggi in acqua alta e ha evitato che le aziende e le case subissero danni inutili.
