Vitale (Unops): "In Ucraina e Gaza su ricostruzione rete servizi"

Roma, 16 mag. (Adnkronos Salute) - “Nei contesti di emergenza e in realtà di guerra arriviamo per cercare di riparare qualche cosa che è già successo, quindi siamo già in ritardo, abbiamo già perso”. Bisognerebbe pensarci prima, “essere già preparati con organizzazioni sanitarie resilienti, cioè che sappiano assorbire degli shock non prevedibili come guerre, catastrofi, cataclismi climatici o eventi socio-economici. In questa realtà l'ingegnere biomedico è al centro di una serie di attori”, operatori pubblici, privati e istituzionali, “che devono collaborare per rendere disponibili e reali quei servizi sanitari di cui c'è bisogno”. Così Umberto Vitale, ingegnere, Global Medical Device Advisor, United Nations Office for Project Services (Unops) Copenhagen, Danimarca, intervenendo oggi al simposio dedicato alla gestione delle tecnologie biomediche in contesti difficili, all'interno del Convegno nazionale dell'Associazione italiana ingegneri clinici (Aiic) in corso a Roma fino al 18 maggio. Si tratta, come ingegnere nelle Nazioni unite, di “dare priorità agli interventi, investire nel settore dei trasporti per dare accesso alle risorse”, soprattutto “umane, prima che tecnologiche - continua Vitale - In Ucraina le Nazioni unite sono particolarmente attive per quanto riguarda la programmazione della ricostruzione del paese e di tutta la parte dei servizi e delle infrastrutture, danneggiate o distrutte dal conflitto in corso, per creare percorsi di accesso a strutture per l'erogazione di servizi sanitari essenziali ai cittadini, garantendo anche la sostenibilità, la sicurezza degli operatori. A Gaza le Nazioni Unite stanno cercano di muoversi, all'interno del conflitto e delle difficoltà logistiche, attraverso quei pochi valichi da dove è possibile far entrare saltuariamente le merci e gli aiuti per erogare i principali servizi sanitari”.
