Al Parco Le Cornelle nata una rara cucciola di leopardo delle nevi

Roma, 10 ago. (askanews) - Fiocco rosa al Parco Faunistico Le Cornelle di Valbrembo (BG). Nelle scorse settimane, dalla cuccia-nido della mamma Luna, è comparsa una piccola cucciola di leopardo delle nevi (Panthera uncia). La piccola, non ancora visibile al pubblico, si unirà presto alle 120 specie di animali provenienti da tutto il mondo ospitate nella struttura. I leopardi delle nevi sono una specie a forte rischio estinzione per la caccia, la perdita di habitat e i cambiamenti climatici, per questo motivo la nascita di un piccolo esemplare di questa specie rappresenta un grande traguardo per la sua conservazione; ogni anno, infatti, il numero delle nascite si aggira intorno ai 15 soggetti e il parco di Valbrembo è una delle tre strutture in Italia dove i leopardi delle nevi possono riprodursi.
