Arrigo Sacchi lo accusa e Roberto Baggio lo umilia: "Purtroppo le persone...", siluro clamoroso

Non è un calcio di rigore quel particolare dal quale si giudica un giocatore. La lezione di Francesco De Gregori vale pienamente per Roberto Baggio, anzi, si moltiplica. È l'unico calciatore ad essere stato amato di più, dopo aver fallito un tiro dal dischetto. Dopo gli iniziali improperi e i pianti per un mondiale solo accarezzato, l'Italia ha amato Baggio per la sua umanità ed il sincero dolore che lui per primo provava. Il 17 Luglio sono passati esattamente trent'anni da quel pomeriggio torrido di Los Angeles, in cui lo stadio Rose Bowl di Pasadena assomigliava di più ad una fornace che a un campo di calcio. Il Brasile lì conquistò il suo quarto mondiale, con un giovane Ronaldo che assistette solo da spettatore, ma già faceva intravedere il suo talento. Così, per celebrare l'anniversario, è stato lo stesso Roby Baggio a postare una foto e a scrivere un ricordo di quei momenti, aiutato dalle frasi del suo guru buddhista, Daisaku Ikeda: "La vita non è sempre facile. Se lo fosse non cresceremmo né progrediremmo come esseri umani. Se riusciamo in qualcosa siamo spesso invidiati; se manchiamo uno scopo siamo ridicolizzati e attaccati. Purtroppo le persone sono così. Dolore e sofferenze inattese possono ritrovarsi sul cammino di ognuno. Ma è proprio nel momento in cui incontrate queste prove che non vi dovete far sconfiggere. Un messaggio importante, una guida per i momenti difficili, come quello che ha dovuto vivere il Divin Codino, presosi sulle spalle il mancato trionfo ad USA '94. Lui, che ci aveva portati in finale con i suoi gol contro Nigeria, Spagna e Bulgaria, lui che per la maglia azzurra avrebbe fatto di tutto e che si è sentito tradito, quando Trapattoni lo ha escluso dal mondiale nippo-coreano del 2002. Lui, infine, che ha dovuto digerire il boccone amaro del suo ex-ct, Arrigo Sacchi, il quale, di fatto, gli ha addossato le responsabilità della gloria mancata. Roby Baggio è un esempio e lo sarà sempre, potrà sbagliarne anche 100 di rigori.
