Biden e Harris: scambio prigionieri con Russia "assolutamente storico"

Raggiante per il successo diplomatico e la liberazione di tanti americani detenuti in Russia, il presidente degli Stati Uniti Joe Biden parla ai giornalisti dalla base Andrews nel Maryland dove accoglie i connazionali al rientro. Accanto a lui la vicepresidente e candidata in pectore alla Casa Bianca, Kamala Harris. Un bel colpo diplomatico con la mediazione di vari paesi, primi fra tutti Germania e Slovenia, e un trionfo d'immagine. "È assolutamente storico, l'abbiamo fatto. Le alleanze fanno la differenza, gli alleati si sono dati da fare per noi" ha detto Biden. "Il problema più grosso in questo caso per altri paesi è stato che ho chiesto di fare cose che non erano nel loro interesse immediato ed erano molto difficili da fare, soprattutto Slovenia e Germania. La Slovenia si è unita all'ultimo e sapete cosa, il Cancelliere è stato incredibile. Incredibile!" "Questo è un giorno incredibile e sono piena di gratitudine per il nostro Presidente e quello che ha fatto nella sua intera carriera" ha ribadito accanto a lui Kamala Harris. "È riuscito a unire gli alleati su molti temi ma in questo caso particolare, è una dimostrazione dell'importanza di avere un Presidente che capisce il potere della diplomazia. È un giorno incredibile, lo vedete in queste famiglie, nei loro occhi nelle loro lacrime".
