Dalla Madison un'altra medaglia, argento per Consonni e Viviani

PARIGI (FRANCIA) (ITALPRESS) – La Madison regala un'altra medaglia all'Italia ai Giochi di Parigi. Il giorno dopo l'oro conquistato da Chiara Consonni e Vittoria Guazzini sono gli uomini a salire sul podio olimpico: Elia Viviani e Simone Consonni, fratello di Chiara, sono argento con 47 punti, alle spalle solo dei portoghesi Leitao-Oliveira, primi con 55 punti, e davanti ai danesi Larsen-Moerkov, bronzo con 41. I due azzurri spingono forte soprattutto nella prima parte di gara, dove si aggiudicano quattro dei primi nove sprint, oltre a prendersi i 20 punti del giro a metà prova, poi nel finale il Portogallo ribalta la situazione e nega all'Italia il titolo. Per Consonni, 29enne di Ponte San Pietro, è la seconda medaglia olimpica della carriera dopo l'oro di tre anni fa nell'inseguimento a squadre, completa invece la sua personale collezione a 35 anni Viviani, che nell'omnium aveva vinto l'oro a Rio 2016 e il bronzo a Tokyo.– foto Ipa Agency –(ITALPRESS).
