Decine di donne accusano Al-Fayed di violenza e fanno causa a Harrods

Londra, 20 set. (askanews) - Almeno 37 donne accusano l'ex proprietario di Harrods, Mohamed Al-Fayed, morto nel 2023, di violenza sessuale. I loro avvocati hanno annunciato che intraprenderanno un'azione civile contro i famosi grandi magazzini, in quanto datori di lavoro delle presunte vittime. "È arrivato il momento di fare giustizia", ha dichiarato in una conferenza stampa a Londra Gloria Allred, che fa parte del gruppo di legali che si occupa del caso. "Le accuse contro Mohamed Al-Fayed includono stupri seriali, tentati stupri, percosse sessuali e abusi sessuali su minori. Riguardano la somministrazione di esami ginecologici invasivi da parte di medici come condizione di lavoro". "Mohamed Al-Fayed, un predatore malato, mi ha attirato usando lo stesso modus operandi che ha usato più volte - racconta una delle vittime - Sono stata sottoposta a un esame medico inutile e invasivo. Non mi sono mai stati forniti i risultati. Sono stata sottoposta a test per l'AIDS e le malattie sessualmente trasmissibili senza consenso, e ora, col senno di poi, credo abbiano controllato la mia verginità". "Era un mostro - dice l'avvocato Dean Armstrong - Ma era un mostro autorizzato da un sistema. Un sistema che pervadeva Harrods". Le donne che accusano Al-Fayed provengono da tutto il mondo, Australia, Romania, Malesia e anche Italia.
