Gb: oggi riunione emergenza 'Cobra' per violenze dopo accoltellamento Southport

Londra, 5 ago. (Adnkronos) - Downing Street ha confermato che oggi terrà una riunione di emergenza del 'Cobra', dopo che più di 150 persone sono state arrestate in seguito a violenti disordini verificatisi in diverse città del Regno Unito nel fine settimana. La decisione arriva dopo che Sir Keir Starmer ha condannato l'attacco a un hotel che ospita richiedenti asilo a Rotherham e ha promesso che coloro che sono coinvolti nei disordini saranno puniti "con tutta la forza della legge". Ieri la polizia è intervenuta a causa di episodi di violenze a Rotherham, Middlesbrough, Bolton e in altre parti del Regno Unito. L'incontro del 'Cobra' - un comitato di risposta alle emergenze, composto da ministri, funzionari pubblici, polizia, ufficiali dei servizi segreti e altri soggetti competenti in base al caso su cui devono indagare - si terrà dopo il sesto giorno di crescente violenza in seguito all'accoltellamento mortale di tre ragazzine avvenuto a Southport la scorsa settimana.
