"Ho lanciato delle urla, non c'erano possibilità!": lezione di Bertolucci a Sinner, dove ha sbagliato

“In semifinale, ho lanciato delle urla davanti alla TV quando ho visto Jannik Sinner rincorrere dei pallonetti su cui si vedeva chiaramente che non c'erano possibilità di recupero”. Commenta così, deciso, Paolo Bertolucci quando parla della passata semifinale del Roland Garros tra Carlos Alcaraz e Jannik Sinner, vinta dallo spagnolo di rimonta al quinto set. In finale, poi, il numero due al mondo ha avuto la meglio, sempre al quinto set, del tedesco Alexander Zverev: “Non ho mai dubitato Alcaraz perdesse la partita — commenta Bertolucci in un'intervista a Fanpage.it — perché poteva già chiudere nel 3° set, quando era 5-2. Primo, quarto e quinto poi li ha vinti in scioltezza. Bisognava che calasse Alcaraz, ma lui ha molte più armi, l'altro è monotematico. Fa bene determinate cose, ma lì si ferma, mentre Carlos ha tutto: lungolinea, incrociato, drop shot, servizio, un'accelerazione di dritto che Zverev si sogna. A rete poi è decisamente più forte”. Intanto Alcaraz e Sinner rappresentano il futuro e continueranno a emozionare a lungo, in un duello teso e sul filo delle vittorie che può allungarsi a lungo: “C'è equilibrio su tutte le superfici fra loro — aggiunge Bertolucci — Poi bisogna dire che Sinner è stato vicino a vincere su una superficie più gradita ad Alcaraz, anche se la differenza è minima visto che ha vinto anche sulle altre e fa bene ovunque. Se dovesse scegliere il match della vita, lo giocherebbe sulla terra secondo me, cosa che non farebbe Sinner che preferirebbe indoor”. Jannik, per migliorare, “deve gestire meglio e crescere da questo punto di vista — dice ancora Bertolucci — Alcaraz per esempio è più strutturato fisicamente, mentre Jannik non è ancora al top. Deve anche imparare a gestire all'interno del match determinate situazioni. Ad esempio in semifinale ho lanciato delle urla davanti alla TV quando l'ho visto rincorrere dei pallonetti, in due-tre occasioni, su cui si vedeva chiaramente che non c'erano possibilità di recupero: quelle cose ti uccidono e ti tagliano le gambe negli ultimi set. Il punto è perso, lascia andare, capisco la generosità, ma non deve sfociare in eccessi negativi”. Intanto Alcaraz si è preso il terzo Slam della carriera, a soli 21 anni: “Se lui ha fatto meglio di Djokovic, Federer e Nadal alla sua età? Bisogna vedere poi la concorrenza, perché loro tre ne hanno vinti più di 60, ma si sono ‘ammazzati' tra di loro — dice ancora Bertolucci — Se fossero stati da soli, ne avrebbero vinti 30 a testa. Vediamo quale sarà la concorrenza e poi non dimentichiamo che per esempio Nole e Roger sono arrivati a 38 e 37 anni senza infortuni fisici gravi. Ci vuole tanta salute per andare avanti. Alcaraz ha già perso parecchi tornei e settimane per infortuni fisici. Arrivare a 20 ce ne vuole".
