"In un torneo come questo?": impensabile Medvedev, sbrocca in campo per le palline | Video

L'ultima bizza di Daniil Medvedev? Presto detto: le palline. I nervi del russo sono saltati durante la partita contro Seyboth Wild a Shanghai: tutta colpa, come detto, proprio delle palline da tennis. Medvedev, oggi numero 5 al mondo, ha perso la brocca - come gli capita di consueto - perché a suo insindacabile giudizio qualcosa non andava. Morale della favola, ha chiamato in causa l'arbitro per protestare contro... le palline. Il disappunto del russo era dovuto ai rimbalzi e alle traiettorie insolite delle palline, che a suo avviso non erano all'altezza di un torneo di alto livello. Visibilmente nervoso e frustrato, il russo si è rivolto all'ufficiale incaricato di garantire il corretto svolgimento del torneo, affermando: "Questo è uno dei tornei più importanti al mondo e le palline si sgretolano dopo cinque game", ha tuonato. Secondo il campione, per la precisione, le palline non avevano una pressione sufficiente per durare a lungo, diventando "ingiocabili" molto prima del previsto cambio, che solitamente avviene ogni 9 game. Daniil ha poi aggiunto, sempre più infervorato: "Queste palline non sono abbastanza buone per il tennis professionistico. Non c'è assolutamente alcuna pressione". Nonostante i tentativi del supervisor di placare l'atleta, Medvedev è apparso visibilmente irritato dalla situazione. Per inciso, già in occasione del China Open che si è chiuso la scorsa settimana, Medvedev aveva criticato proprio le palline, definite "pompelmi". In quella occasione, il russo aveva spiegato: "Giochiamo scambi da 30 colpi perché è quasi impossibile fare un vincente. Con queste palle devi essere al 100% su ogni punto, fino all'ultimo punto della partita", aveva concluso il puo primo sfogo Medvedev.
