India: Uttar Pradesh, almeno 33 morti ai seggi per colpo di calore ultimo giorno elezioni

Nuova Delhi, 2 giu. (Adnkronos/Dpa) - Sono almeno 33 gli indiani morti nei seggi a causa di un colpo di calore nello stato di Uttar Pradesh, dove ieri si è votato nella settima, ed ultima, tappa della lunga maratona elettorale, in cui tra il 19 aprile e ieri sono stati chiamati a votare 996 milioni di persone, durante l'eccezionale ondata di calore, con temperature percepite che arrivano ai 50 gradi e che hanno provocato nei giorni scorsi 85 vittime in 24 ore. E' stato il presidente della commissione elettorale dell'Uttar Pradesh, Navdeep Rinwa, a rendere noto il bilancio delle vittime del caldo ai seggi, che comprende elettori, scrutatori, membri delle forze di sicurezza e personale sanitario. Un elettore è collassato all'interno della cabina elettorale ed è stato trasportato in ospedale dove è stato accertato il decesso.
