Marcinelle: La Russa, 'tante, troppe morti bianche'

Roma, 8 ago. (Adnkronos) - "In occasione del 68º anniversario della tragedia di Marcinelle, ricordiamo con profonda commozione il disastro del 1956 quando un incendio scoppiato nelle miniere belghe, causò la morte di 262 persone, tra cui 136 italiani. Questi nostri compatrioti, emigrati all'estero in cerca di un futuro migliore, sono simbolo di coraggio, sofferenza, fatica e resilienza. Il loro sacrificio - anche a distanza di tanti anni - non è stato dimenticato e rimarrà indelebile nella memoria della nostra Nazione". Lo scrive sui social il presidente del Senato Ignazio La Russa. "La tragedia di Marcinelle che segna inoltre la 'Giornata nazionale del sacrificio del lavoro italiano nel mondo' - istituita nel 2001 dall'allora ministro Mirko Tremaglia - resta un momento fondante della nostra storia e ci ricorda ancora oggi l'importanza della sicurezza sul lavoro. Alle tante, troppe morti bianche, il Senato della Repubblica rende omaggio rivolgendo un deferente pensiero", conclude la Seconda carica dello Stato.
