Washington, 13 ago. (Adnkronos) - Il capo della Casa Bianca per il Medio Oriente, Brett McGurk, si sta recando al Cairo e a Doha, mentre l'inviato speciale Amos Hochstein si sta recando a Beirut. Lo ha reso noto la portavoce della Casa Bianca, Karine Jean-Pierre, sottolineando che l'amministrazione cerca di finalizzare un cessate il fuoco e un accordo per il rilascio degli ostaggi, impedendo al contempo un'ulteriore escalation nella regione. "Crediamo che i negoziatori debbano sedersi al tavolo delle trattative. Crediamo che arrivare a un accordo di cessate il fuoco sia il modo migliore per allentare le tensioni che stiamo vedendo", ha detto Jean-Pierre ai giornalisti.
