Mo: Meloni a Herzog, 'impegnati in de-escalation, forte preoccupazione per situazione a Gaza'

Roma, 25 lug. (Adnkronos) - Nell'incontro di oggi a Palazzo Chigi con il presidente dello Stato d'Israele, Isaac Herzog, la premier Giorgia Meloni "ha ribadito la vicinanza del governo italiano ad Israele e la ferma condanna del terrorismo di Hamas". La presidente del Consiglio "ha inoltre rinnovato l'impegno italiano per la de-escalation a livello regionale, ricordando il ruolo svolto dal contingente italiano al confine con il Libano tramite UNIFIL e ribadendo la forte preoccupazione per la situazione umanitaria nella Striscia di Gaza. Nel sottolineare l'importanza di giungere al più presto ad un cessate il fuoco e alla liberazione degli ostaggi, lavorando nella prospettiva di una soluzione a due Stati, Meloni ha assicurato che l'Italia continuerà a sostenere la mediazione USA e a portare assistenza alla popolazione civile palestinese, incluso attraverso l'iniziativa “Food for Gaza”", informa Palazzo Chigi a termine dell'incontro.
