Mo: Meloni sente Netanyahu, 'cessate il fuoco, liberazione ostaggi e de-escalation'

Roma, 13 ago. (Adnkronos) - Il presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, nell'ambito dei continui contatti che sta intrattenendo sulla crisi in Medio Oriente, ha avuto oggi una nuova conversazione telefonica con il Primo ministro di Israele, Benjamin Netanyahu. Il presidente Meloni -riferisce una nota di Palazzo Chigi- ha reiterato il forte auspicio che si possa trovare un accordo per un cessate il fuoco sostenibile a Gaza e il rilascio degli ostaggi, in linea con la Risoluzione 2735 del Consiglio di Sicurezza delle Nazioni unite, in occasione del prossimo round negoziale del 15 agosto. Il presidente Meloni ha ribadito il convinto sostegno alla mediazione guidata da Stati Uniti, Egitto e Qatar. Nel riconoscere il diritto all'autodifesa di Israele, il presidente del Consiglio ha sottolineato l'importanza di una de-escalation a livello regionale, incluso lungo il confine israelo-libanese dove è presente la forza di interposizione delle Nazioni unite, Unifil, in cui l'Italia gioca un ruolo di primo piano.
