Mo: Meloni sente primo ministro Libano, impegno Italia per cessate fuoco

Roma, 1 ott. (Adnkronos) - La presidente del Consiglio, Giorgia Meloni, ha avuto oggi una conversazione telefonica con il primo ministro del Libano, Najib Mikati. Nel rinnovare la vicinanza dell'Italia al Libano e al popolo libanese e nel ricordare i primi aiuti immediati alla popolazione civile stanziati ieri dal governo, la presidente del Consiglio - informa Palazzo Chigi - ha ribadito l'impegno italiano per un cessate il fuoco e una soluzione diplomatica al conflitto che permetta agli sfollati di tornare alle proprie case. L'Italia, anche quale Presidenza di turno del G7, continuerà a lavorare per una de-escalation a livello regionale. La premier ha infine ricordato il ruolo cruciale dei militari italiani presenti nel sud del Libano all'interno della missione UNIFIL, sottolineando l'importanza della loro sicurezza.
