Mo: Smotrich, 'sarebbe giustificato far morire di fame 2 milioni di abitanti di Gaza'

Tel Aviv, 5 ago. (Adnkronos) - Bloccare gli aiuti umanitari alla Striscia di Gaza sarebbe "giustificato e morale", anche se ciò causasse la morte di fame di 2 milioni di civili. Tuttavia, la comunità internazionale non lo permetterebbe. Lo ha detto il ministro delle Finanze israeliano, Bezalel Smotrich, affermando: "Stiamo portando aiuti perché non c'è scelta. Non possiamo, nell'attuale realtà globale, gestire una guerra. Nessuno ci lascerà causare la morte di fame di 2 milioni di civili, anche se potrebbe essere giustificato e morale, finché i nostri ostaggi non saranno restituiti. Viviamo oggi in una realtà nella quale abbiamo bisogno della legittimità internazionale per questa guerra". Nel suo intervento, l'esponente dell'estrema destra israeliana ha sostenuto che Israele deve riprendere il pieno controllo su ciò che entra esattamente nella Striscia, affermando di opporsi alla posizione dell'esercito e del ministro della Difesa Yoav Gallant sulla questione. Ha inoltre affermato che il saccheggio degli aiuti da parte di Hamas è il "fattore principale" che sta prolungando la guerra.
