Washington, 26 set. (Adnkronos) - Gli Stati Uniti e la Francia hanno chiesto un cessate il fuoco temporaneo di 21 giorni tra Israele e Hezbollah per far spazio a negoziati più ampi, mentre Israele ha annunciato di prepararsi per una possibile operazione di terra in Libano, dopo un'intensa campagna di bombardamenti durata tre giorni, in cui sono morte più di 600 persone, alimentando ulteriormente i timori di un conflitto regionale. La dichiarazione congiunta rilasciata dal presidente degli Stati Uniti Joe Biden e dal suo omologo francese Emmanuel Macron ha affermato: "È tempo di un accordo sul confine tra Israele e Libano che garantisca sicurezza e protezione per consentire ai civili di tornare alle loro case. Lo scambio di fuoco dal 7 ottobre, e in particolare nelle ultime due settimane, minaccia un conflitto molto più ampio e danni ai civili".
