Nave Vespucci, comandante: oltre 42mila visitatori a Los Angeles

Roma, 9 lug. (askanews) - "Abbiamo contato oltre 42 mila visitatori, tanti gli italiani o le persone di origine italiana, ma tantissima anche la gente comune ed è la cosa più importante e più bella che ci portiamo da Los Angeles: questo abbraccio della popolazione, questo affetto, questo calore che ci fa sentire un po' a casa, anche se siamo tanto lontani". A raccontarlo è il Comandante del Vespucci, C.V. Giuseppe Lai, a conclusione della tappa della Nave Amerigo Vespucci a Los Angeles. "Ripartiremo questo pomeriggio da Los Angeles alla volta di Tokyo con una sosta intermedia a Honolulu nelle Hawaii. L'attraversamento dell'Oceano Pacifico ci vorranno quasi due mesi. Sarà una sfida importante da un punto di vista nautico, particolarmente sfidante sia la navigazione che la logistica, tutto quello che c'è a contorno di questo. Sarà una bella avventura per noi e soprattutto per gli allievi della prima classe che da qua partono con la loro campagna addestrativa".
