L'esordio al Six Kings Slam di Jannik Sinner ha impressionato tutti. I telespettatori a casa - nonostante l'inquadratura oscena -, il pubblico sugli spali e persino Daniil Medvedev. Il russo ha perso ancora uno volta contro il numero uno al mondo. E nel primo set del match è stato surclassato dal talento dell'azzurro, che ha chiuso la pratica in soli 26 minuti. Il nervosismo di Medvedev era palpabile. Dopo l'ennesimo errore, il russo ha scagliato più volte la racchetta contro il pavimento. Ma ciò non è servito a cambiare il risulto. "Non ho mai giocato, secondo me, contro qualcuno che abbia giocato come Jannik oggi - ha dichiarato il russo dopo il match -. Non riuscivo a fare nulla. Non sapevo cosa fare. Di solito penso a Jannik come un po' più costante, più simile a una macchina - ha aggiunto Medvedev -, mentre Alcaraz è un po' più altalenante con qualche colpo di classe". Poi, in ogni caso, una stoccata a Sinner. "Ma quando Carlos è al massimo del suo gioco, lo considero leggermente migliore - ha affermato il russo -. Ma parliamo del massimo livello. Oggi ho cambiato idea. Non ho mai giocato contro qualcuno che abbia giocato come Jannik oggi. E' stata una sensazione difficile in campo perché mi sentivo bene, stavo combattendo bene; fisicamente mi sentivo bene. Il mio tennis non era così male, e ho perso - ha concluso -, cosa che non ricordo fosse mai successa. È andata così".
