Parigi 2024: Russia paga risarcimento agli atleti esclusi dai Giochi

Mosca, 11 lug. (Adnkronos) - Gli atleti russi non ammessi alle Olimpiadi di Parigi 2024 hanno ricevuto un compenso finanziario, ha detto l'agenzia di stampa Ria Novosti citando il direttore generale del Comitato Olimpico russo (ROC), Vladimir Sengleev. Hanno ricevuto il denaro gli atleti che non hanno potuto prendere parte alle competizioni internazionali per qualificarsi ai Giochi e quelli che non hanno ottenuto lo status neutrale per partecipare ai Giochi. Un totale di 200 milioni di rubli (2,09 milioni di dollari) sono stati pagati a 245 atleti russi. "Abbiamo effettuato gli ultimi pagamenti il 23 giugno, la Giornata olimpica tutta russa", ha detto Sengleev. Gli atleti provenienti da Russia e Bielorussia possono competere come atleti neutrali a Parigi solo a determinate condizioni a causa della guerra della Russia contro l'Ucraina. Tuttavia, alcune federazioni sportive russe, tra cui quelle di judo e lotta, hanno deciso di rifiutare la partecipazione ai Giochi, lamentando “condizioni umilianti” imposte dal Comitato Olimpico Internazionale (Cio). I Giochi di Parigi 2024 si svolgeranno dal 26 luglio all'11 agosto.
