Pinguini e cammelli sulla bilancia, lo Zoo di Londra pesa gli animali

Londra, 19 ago. (askanews) - Sembrano capire cosa devono fare: si mettono in fila ordinati, salgono sulla bilancia composti e stanno fermi. Pinguini, leoni, cammelli..., gli animali dello Zoo di Londra, come ogni anno, vengono pesati dagli addetti del parco. I dati di oltre 10.000 animali e quasi 400 specie vengono poi raccolti e condivisi in un database con gli zoo di tutto il mondo, per un confronto che possa essere utile alla conservazione delle specie in pericolo. Di recente il giardino zoologico londinese ha anche attirato l'attenzione dopo che un'opera di Banksy è stata dipinta all'ingresso; l'originale è stato rimosso per salvaguardarlo e ne è stata affissa una replica. "Vogliamo proteggerla adeguatamente e poi, se tutto va bene, la rimetteremo in mostra", ha dichiarato la responsabile delle operazioni zoologiche Angela Ryan.
