Piovella (SOI): Combattiamo diffondersi di pericolose fake news

Roma, 19 lug. (askanews) - "La Società Oftalmologica Italiana combatte il diffondersi di pericolose fake news che mettono a rischio la vista dei cittadini italiani in particolar modo di bambini e anziani. I consigli dispensati dalla signora Sara Cosenza sui propri profili social e su YouTube sono privi di competenza clinica e di fondamento scientifico. Non ci sono evidenze capaci di suffragare la validità delle tecniche proposte, mentre come medici oculisti siamo certi che, rinunciare alle necessarie cure per la vista affidandosi a pericolose pratiche come il palming o indurre a limitare l'uso degli occhiali nei bambini con la scusa di rinforzarne la vista sia estremamente pericoloso". SOI evidenzia che il numero delle Persone cieche è destinato a raddoppiare. Se per salvaguardare la vista le persone non si rivolgeranno ai medici oculisti ma si affideranno a chi non ha capacità e conoscenze adeguate la situazione peggiorerà in modo drammatico. I 7000 Medici Oculisti italiani salvano la vista a 2 milioni di persone ogni anno con l'esperienza e la professionalità conseguite in 10 anni di totale impegno e dedizione".
