(askanews) - Ventidue anni, alla seconda Olimpiade il nuotatore francese Léon Marchand ha sorpassato le attese conquistando l'oro nei 400 stili misti, poi nei 200 rana, nei 200 delfino e nei 200 stili misti. Infine un bronzo nella staffetta 4x100 stili misti. Il ragazzo è stato accolto come un vero eroe lunedì sera a Club France. La sua popolarità è alle stelle, qualcuno lo accoglie cantando la Marsigliese con "Marchand, Marchand" invece di "Marchons". Figlio d'arte del nuoto: il padre Xavier conquistò un argento ai mondiali, la madre Céline Bonnet deteneva un record nazionale. Per i francesi, è già leggenda.
