Atene, 13 ago. (askanews) - Cenere e distruzione, ecco quello che resta alla periferia di Atene dopo gli incendi che hanno messo in ginocchio la zona per oltre 48 ore. I servizi di emergenza greci affermano di aver compiuto progressi nel contenere la diffusione degli incendi alle porte della capitale, che hanno causato danni diffusi e costringendo migliaia di persone ad abbandonare le proprie case. Almeno una donna è morta in una fabbrica bruciata e 66 persone sono state curate per le ferite provocate dall'incendio. Il ministro greco della Protezione civile Vassilis Kikilias ha spiegato che non esiste più un "fronte attivo" del massiccio incendio che ha minacciato Atene, al momento restano "solo punti caldi sparsi" - grazie a uno "sforzo sovrumano" dei vigili del fuoco. In soccorso delle Grecia anche uomini e mezzi dei Vigili del Fuoco italiani e francesi.
