Russia: Putin, 'nostro impegno per sport più democratico, Cio condizionato da Usa'

Mosca, 2 set. (Adnkronos) - Il Comitato Olimpico Internazionale (Cio) sta palesemente disprezzando gli ideali olimpici, ma la Russia continuerà a percorrere la strada della democratizzazione dello sport e della rimozione di restrizioni inverosimili. Lo ha affermato il presidente russo Vladimir Putin in un'intervista al quotidiano mongolo Onoodor. "Gli attuali leader del Comitato Olimpico Internazionale, agendo su impulso dell'Occidente - principalmente degli Stati Uniti - stanno palesemente disprezzando gli ideali olimpici che dovrebbero difendere. Invece di promuovere i diritti degli atleti, l'integrità e l'universalità del movimento olimpico, si stanno aggrappando alla loro posizione sociale, al potere e alla prosperità personale", ha aggiunto Putin. "Perseguiremo una maggiore democrazia nel movimento sportivo, ci impegneremo a rimuovere barriere e restrizioni artificiali e ad ampliare la gamma di eventi sportivi nazionali e internazionali".
