Nouméa (Nuova Caledonia), 25 mag. (askanews) - Squadre di gendarmi hanno condotto un'operazione militare, anche con l'uso di gas lacrimogeni, nel quartiere Kaméré, di Nouméa Capitale della Nuova Caledonia, particolarmente interessato dalle sommosse che stanno colpendo il territorio francese del Pacifico meridionale in risposta a un progetto di legge costituzionale che prevede l'ampliamento del corpo elettorale per le elezioni provinciali, fortemente osteggiato dagli indipendentisti. Le sommosse popolari hanno già causato la morte di diverse persone e molti turisti sono stati evacuati con l'utilizzo di aerei militari.
