Sicilia, favoreggiamento immigrazione clandestina: fermati 2 scafisti

Roma, 13 lug. (askanews) - La Polizia di Stato di Agrigento ha arrestato 2 stranieri, rispettivamente di nazionalità egiziana e siriana, sbarcati a Lampedusa lo scorso 7 luglio, con l'accusa di favoreggiamento all'immigrazione clandestina. Entrambi residenti in Libia, secondo la polizia, avrebbero fatto entrare illegalmente nel territorio italiano 46 migranti, prevalentemente di nazionalità bengalese, conducendo un'imbarcazione non adatta alla traversata. Nel viaggio, tre migranti di nazionalità egiziana e bengalese, sono morti. I fatti sono avvenuti lo scorso 7 luglio quando la loro imbarcazione in legno di circa 10 metri è naufragata in prossimità di Lampedusa e si è inabissata dopo avere urtato la scogliera: 43 migranti sono stati soccorsi sulle coste dell'isola mentre tre di loro erano morti.
