"Sotto il battiscopa o nel materasso": allarme cimici dei letti, ecco a cosa fare attenzione

"Possono sopravvivere per più di un anno senza cibo. Non è come per i pidocchi, che dopo 24 ore muoiono": a lanciare l'allarme cimici dei letti, che sono una delle migliaia di cimici esistenti in natura, è l'entomologo Nicola Bressi. Che, intervistato dal Quotidiano Nazionale, ha spiegato: "Le cimici dei letti si nascondono negli anfratti, sotto il battiscopa o nel materasso, dietro la testiera del letto. Restano ferme, immobili. Di notte escono dai loro nascondigli, attratte soprattutto dal calore del nostro corpo più che dall'odore. Le cimini viaggiano con noi, con i nostri bagagli e i nostri vestiti". Secondo l'esperto, la presenza di questi insetti negli ultimi anni sarebbe aumentata parecchio per due motivi: "D'inverno, rispetto a molti anni fa, oggi le case sono riscaldate, si arriva a superare anche i 20 gradi. Un cambiamento che naturalmente agevola i parassiti. E poi perché hanno sviluppato resistenza ai nostri insetticidi. Questa è una legge evolutiva, capita anche con le zanzare". Infine Bressi ha spiegato che ci sono anche delle cimici utili: "Tra le migliaia di specie di cimici ci sono anche quelle utili. Come le notonette, predatrici che hanno salvato la vita a migliaia di persone perché si nutrono delle larve di zanzara, sott'acqua".
