"Tel Aviv ha informato Washington": Libano, l'operazione di terra sta per iniziare

Potrebbe essere imminente un'operazione di terra da parte di Israele in Libano: Tel Aviv avrebbe già informato Washington, parlando però di un'operazione "limitata". Lo ha riferito al Washington Post un funzionario degli Stati Uniti, precisando che lo Stato ebraico ritiene che la nuova campagna possa essere su scala ridotta rispetto alla guerra con Hezbollah del 2006 e concentrarsi solo sullo smantellamento delle infrastrutture militari del gruppo libanese lungo il confine. L'obiettivo, infatti, è consentire il ritorno delle comunità israeliane sfollate nelle loro abitazioni. Nel frattempo, stando a quanto trapelato, l'Idf sarebbe rimasto sorpreso dalla mancata risposta di Hezbollah ai raid mirati di Tel Aviv contro i suoi vertici, soprattutto dopo l'uccisione del leader Hassan Nasrallah venerdì 27 settembre. In realtà, pare che la capacità di risposta di Hezbollah contro il fronte di Israele sia stata ridotta più di quanto previsto. La risposta letale che l'esercito israeliano si aspettava non è mai arrivata né su Haifa né sulle porzioni più a sud del fronte nord. Nelle scorse ore, invece, il primo ministro israeliano Benjamin Netanyahu si è rivolto al popolo iraniano confermando il sostegno di Israele: "Ogni giorno vedete un regime che vi sottomette, che fa discorsi infuocati sulla difesa del Libano e di Gaza. Eppure, ogni giorno, quel regime fa sprofondare la nostra regione nell'oscurità e nella guerra". E ancora: "La stragrande maggioranza degli iraniani sa che al regime non importa nulla di loro. Se gli importasse, se gli importasse di voi, smetterebbe di sprecare miliardi di dollari in guerre inutili in tutto il Medio Oriente. Inizierebbe a migliorare le vostre vite".
