Venezia, Almodovar: si affronti l'eutanasia dal punto di vista umano

Roma, 8 set. (askanews) - Pedro Almodovar mostra con orgoglio il Leone d'Oro vinto per il miglior film "The Room Next Door" (La stanza accanto) alla Mostra del Cinema di Venezia, sottolineando l'importanza di discutere del tema trattato nel film, l'eutanasia. "Il film parla fondamentalmente di una donna, Tilda Swinton, che è padrona della sua vita quando è in vita ma da viva è anche padrona della sua morte e credo che questo sia un diritto umano fondamentale. Per questo l'eutanasia deve essere affrontata dal punto di vista umano, non da quello politico, ma è necessario che i governi articolino una legge che permetta questa transizione" ha detto il regista spagnolo poco dopo la cerimonia di premiazione. "È un dibattito che deve accendersi ancora di più e soprattutto io sono convinto che, secondo molte fedi, Dio è l'unico che può toglierti la vita, ma chiedo a tutte le persone credenti che si rispettino le decisioni individuali, è un'altra cosa, una persona prende una decisione e deve essere rispettata".
