Volkswagen lancia allarme: non esclusa chiusura fabbriche in Germania

Berlino, 3 set. (askanews) - La casa automobilistica tedesca Volkswagen ha avvertito che non sarà più in grado di escludere la chiusura di impianti in Germania: sarebbe una prima assoluta negli 87 anni di storia dell'azienda, ed evoca lo spettro di importanti misure di riduzione dei costi per "proteggere il futuro" dell'azienda. "L'industria automobilistica europea si trova in una situazione molto difficile e seria", ha dichiarato il Ceo del Gruppo Volkswagen Oliver Blume in un comunicato, secondo quanto riferito da Cnbc. "Il contesto economico è diventato ancora più difficile e nuovi concorrenti stanno entrando nel mercato europeo", ha sottolineato Blume. "Inoltre, la Germania, in particolare come luogo di produzione, sta perdendo terreno in termini di competitività". Di conseguenza, l'azienda "deve ora agire con decisione". La casa automobilistica si trova così costretta a porre fine al suo accordo di protezione dell'occupazione - un programma di sicurezza del lavoro in vigore dal 1994 - al fine di garantire "gli adeguamenti strutturali urgentemente necessari per una maggiore competitività nel breve termine". I marchi all'interno dell'azienda dovranno essere sottoposti a una "ristrutturazione completa", ha detto Volkswagen. Vista la situazione attuale non è quindi più possibile escludere la chiusura di stabilimenti per la produzione di veicoli e componenti.
