L'area sotterranea del campo sportivo di Casal di Principe, a Caserta, è stata contaminata dalla criminalità organizzata, causando un potenziale rischio per la sanità pubblica. Durante un processo legato alla gestione dei rifiuti tossici dei Casalesi, il tecnico Arpac ha rivelato la presenza di 150mila metri cubi di rifiuti pericolosi, incluso l'amianto, accumulati nel corso degli anni. Tra gli imputati ci sono membri di spicco del clan, come Walter Schiavone, fratello del boss "Sandokan". Il Comune di Casal di Principe si è formalmente costituito nel procedimento legale.
