Carlos Alcaraz si conferma campione di Wimbledon. Nella finale giocata sul campo Centrale dell'All England Club di Londra, il tennista spagnolo numero 3 del mondo, ha battuto in tre set il serbo Novak Djokovic, numero 2, con il punteggio di 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (4) al quarto match point in 2 ore e 30 minuti di gioco. Lo spagnolo ha fallito 3 match point consecutivi sul 5-4 e servizio nel terzo set. Per Alcaraz è il secondo successo in carriera a Wimbledon, il quarto in una prova del Grande Slam a soli 21 anni su altrettante finali giocate. Djokovic fallisce invece l'assalto al suo ottavo successo a Wimbledon, il serbo non riesce così ad eguagliare il primato di Roger Federer sull'erba londinese. Il tennista nato a Murcia, numero 3 del mondo e del seeding, ha letteralmente dominato l'atto conclusivo del torneo, piegando il 37enne di Belgrado, numero 2 del ranking Atp e secondo favorito del tabellone, in circa due ore e mezza di gioco. Unico brivido del match sul 5-4 al terzo set in favore di Alcaraz, il quale ha sciupato sul suo servizio ben tre match-point (era avanti per 40-0). Poi lo spagnolo ha chiuso il set e il match al tie break.
