Wimbledon, Alcaraz resta campione: Djokovic battuto in finale

(Adnkronos) - Carlos Alcaraz trionfa a Wimbledon 2024. Lo spagnolo, detentore del titolo e numero 3 del mondo, come nella finale 2023 batte il serbo Novak Djokovic, numero 2 del ranking, per 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 (7-4). Alcaraz, 21 anni, conquista il secondo titolo di fila sull'erba londinese, il quarto Slam della carriera e il 15esima torneo nel circuito. L'iberico annichilisce il 37enne Djokovic nei primi 2 set con un copione identico: break immediato e poi allungo in finale di frazione con il secondo servizio strappato al rivale. Nel terzo parziale, Djokovic non sfrutta una palla break che potrebbe rimetterlo in carreggiata. Sul 4-4, il serbo scivola sotto 0-40: Alcaraz sfrutta la seconda delle 3 palle break e mette la freccia verso il traguardo. Lo spagnolo ha a disposizione 3 match point ma si inceppa: Djokovic resta vivo con un incredibile controbreak (5-5). Si va al tie-break, Alcaraz conquista un mini break di vantaggio e non si guarda più indietro: 7-4, vince e resta re di Wimbledon.
