Beach e park littering, tra i materiali dispersi solo lo 0,2% in biopolimeri

Roma, 12 giu. (Adnkronos) - Tre anni di monitoraggi in 10 parchi urbani e 10 spiagge lungo lo Stivale, per due volte all'anno, per osservare il fenomeno del littering in queste due aree particolarmente sensibili. Obiettivo: ottenere dati sulla dispersione delle bioplastiche nell'ambiente, non essendo questa tipologia di materiale compresa ad oggi nei monitoraggi ufficiali. I risultati del progetto di Citizen Science di Legambiente in collaborazione con Biorepack sono stati illustrati oggi a Roma, in occasione del 1° Forum italiano delle bioplastiche compostabili, dal direttore dell'associazione Giorgio Zampetti. "I primi risultati - spiega - vedono 36.226 rifiuti ritrovati, il 79,9% in polimeri artificiali, lo 0,2% in biopolimeri, il 19,9% in altri materiali". Inoltre "abbiamo messo a confronto la tipologia di rifiuti ritrovati nei parchi con quelli ritrovati sulle spiagge, qui la percentuale di plastica aumenta fino al 91% mentre la bioplastica rappresenta l'0,1% nelle spiagge e lo 0,2% nei parchi. Nella top five sul tipo di plastiche: ancora l'usa e getta la fa da padrone, soprattutto shopper, alcuni imballaggi, posate e bicchieri".
