(askanews) - Gli abitanti di Houston sono rimasti senza corrente dopo il passaggio dell'uragano Beryl e aspettano di ricevere acqua e ghiaccio in un centro di distribuzione allestito dalle autorità locali, mentre il caldo e l'umidità opprimono la città più popolosa del Texas. Adrian Garcìa, responsabile locale del comitato Harris: "Ovviamente il caldo è nemico di tutti in questo momento. Quindi accendere queste luci e ripristinare l'elettricità è assolutamente una priorità". "Ma non ti sto mentendo. Te lo dico, da uomo a uomo: stiamo morendo, amico. Stiamo soffrendo, amico. Questo caldo ci sta uccidendo, fratello. Ci sta uccidendo, amico. Sta risucchiando la vita e l'anima fuori dal mio corpo mentre parliamo", ha detto Josh Vance, un 43enne residente a Houston.
