Una potente tempesta si è abbattuta per diverse ore sul piccolo villaggio di Willard, nel New Mexico centrale, causando gravi inondazioni improvvise e intrappolando decine di veicoli nell'acqua. Secondo il servizio meteorologico nazionale, pioggia e grandine della dimensione di un limone si sono abbattute sul piccolo villaggio fuori Albuquerque per tre ore consecutive. I meteorologi dicono che il maltempo è emblematico di questo periodo dell'anno, quando la stagione degli incendi e quella dei monsoni si sovrappongono nello Stato.
