**Quirnale: Lorenzo Sassaro, un nome una stella**

Roma, 27 apr. (Adnkronos) - La grande passione per le scienze astronomiche ha portato Lorenzo Sassaro, nuovo Alfiere della Repubblica, residente a Valdagno, in provincia di Vicenza, a scoprire, a soli 16 anni, una stella variabile, cioè una stella che, per cause fisiche, varia la sua luminosità nel tempo. La scoperta, eccezionale in considerazione della giovane età del ragazzo, è avvenuta nell'ambito di un progetto dell'Osservatorio astronomico di Marana di Crespadoro. Dopo mesi di osservazione e studio della Nebulosa Carena e dei dati recuperati da telescopi survey posizionati sulla Terra e sui satelliti, l'impegno di Lorenzo è stato ripagato dalla scoperta di questa nuova stella che, dopo essere stata approvata, riconosciuta e censita dall'ente internazionale per le stelle variabili dell'American Association of Variable Star Observer, ora porta anche il suo nome.
