Fumo, la proposta degli oncologi: "Aumentare di 5 euro prezzo sigarette"

Aumentare di 5 euro al pacchetto il prezzo delle sigarette, con il duplice scopo di disincentivare l'abitudine al fumo, che è la causa del 90% dei casi di tumore al polmone, e al contempo sostenere con il ricavato il Servizio sanitario nazionale con circa 13,8 miliardi di euro. A richiederlo è l'Associazione italiana di oncologia medica (Aiom) che al Senato, ha presentato la campagna #SOStenereSSN, promossa con Fondazione Aiom e Panorama della Sanità. “Chiediamo alle Istituzioni di approvare una tassa di scopo per ridurre il consumo di tabacco e disporre di ulteriori risorse per il SSN" dice il presidente Aiom Perrone che ricorda come il tabagismo sia un fattore di rischio anche per altre neoplasie, per malattie cardiovascolari e respiratorie. Altri Paesi europei, come la Francia, hanno già modificato il prezzo di vendita, che oggi si aggira sui 12 euro a pacchetto.
